watchwomen
Women who patrol
Watchwomen is the plural of watchwoman—a female guard or security officer who keeps watch over a building, property, or area.
The term parallels watchmen but specifies women in the role: The night watchwomen patrolled the warehouse district.
Like many gendered occupation terms, it has largely given way to gender-neutral alternatives like security guards or simply watchers.
