Office trash container
A waste basket is a container for trash, typically an open-topped bin kept indoors for discarding paper and other small refuse: She tossed the draft into the waste basket.
Also spelled wastebasket.
The term is slightly more formal than trash can, and often implies an office or household setting rather than outdoor use.
