washdays

Weekly laundry sessions

Washdays are days designated for doing laundry.

Before washing machines became household fixtures, laundry was labor-intensive work often reserved for a specific day of the week—traditionally Monday in many English-speaking households.

The word now sounds old-fashioned, though the practice of batching laundry persists: Saturday is my washday.
