war path
Route toward conflict
A warpath is the route taken by a group of warriors traveling to attack an enemy—originally associated with Native American warfare.
The figurative sense dominates modern usage: to be on the warpath is to be angry and looking for confrontation.
The boss is on the warpath about those missing files.
