walking frames

Elderly stability devices

Walking frames are mobility aids consisting of a lightweight metal structure with four legs that a person grips for stability while walking.

Used primarily by elderly or injured people who need support but can still bear weight on their legs.

The user lifts or pushes the frame forward, then steps into it.

Called walkers in American English.
