Vodkatinis are martinis made with vodka instead of gin.
The classic martini uses gin, but vodka versions became popular in the late twentieth century.
Some purists reject the substitution, but vodkatinis now rival or exceed traditional martinis in popularity: She ordered two vodkatinis, dirty, with extra olives.
