viral challenge

A viral challenge is an activity that spreads rapidly through social media, typically involving people filming themselves performing a specific task and encouraging others to do the same.

Challenges range from harmless fun like dance routines or lip-syncing to dangerous stunts: The ice bucket challenge raised millions for ALS research.

Some viral challenges have caused injuries or deaths, prompting warnings from authorities.
