verb forms
Action word changes
Verb forms are the different shapes a verb takes to express grammatical distinctions—tense, person, number, mood.
English verbs have relatively few: base form (walk), third-person singular (walks), past (walked), past participle (walked), and present participle (walking).
Irregular verbs complicate this: swim, swims, swam, swum, swimming.
When someone struggles with verb forms, they're usually grappling with irregulars or the distinction between past and past participle.
