upchuck

Lose your lunch

Upchuck is an informal American word meaning to vomit.

It emerged in the early twentieth century as a playful formation suggesting the upward motion of stomach contents being expelled.

The word appears both as verb and noun: I thought I was going to upchuck on the roller coaster or There was upchuck all over the bathroom floor.

It's slightly less crude than puke but more casual than vomit.
