unsubsidized loan
No-discount borrowed money
An unsubsidized loan is a type of student loan where interest accrues from the moment the money is disbursed, even while the borrower is still in school.
Unlike subsidized loans, where the government pays the interest during enrollment, an unsubsidized loan accumulates interest that the borrower is responsible for: The interest on my unsubsidized loans capitalized while I was in grad school.
