unstage
Take down set
To unstage is to remove something from a staged state—most commonly in version control systems like Git, where it means to remove a file from the staging area before committing: I accidentally added that file, so I need to unstage it.
The word can also apply to reversing theatrical staging or removing something from a display area, though the computing sense dominates current usage.
