unserviceability
State of disrepair
Unserviceability is the state of being unfit for use or unable to function as intended.
The term appears most often in military, aviation, and equipment contexts, where it describes machinery or vehicles that cannot perform their designated purpose: The aircraft was grounded due to unserviceability of the landing gear.
Unserviceability may be temporary (awaiting repair) or permanent (beyond economical restoration).
