unriddle
Crack the puzzle
To unriddle is to solve or explain something puzzling or mysterious—to work out a riddle.
The word applies to actual riddles but extends to any enigma requiring interpretation: She unriddled the meaning of the ancient inscription.
The term is literary and somewhat old-fashioned, more likely found in Victorian novels than contemporary speech.
