Unriddling is solving or explaining something mysterious or puzzling.
To unriddle is to work out the answer to a riddle, or more broadly, to make sense of anything obscure or confusing: She spent years unriddling the meaning of the ancient text.
The word suggests patient effort to decode what was deliberately or naturally hidden.
