Unreachability is the state of being impossible to reach, contact, or access.
The term appears in technical contexts—network unreachability means a system cannot establish connection to a destination.
In everyday use, it describes someone who cannot be contacted: His unreachability during the crisis frustrated everyone.
The word also captures emotional distance: There was an unreachability about her that kept people at arm's length.
