unloose

Let go of

Unloose means to release or set free—the same as loose or loosen.

Despite the negative-seeming prefix, unloose doesn't mean the opposite of loose; the two words are synonyms: He unloosed the dogs from their chains.

The word is somewhat literary and old-fashioned, appearing more often in older texts than contemporary speech.
