unionising

Workers banding together

Unionising is the British spelling of unionizing—the process of organizing workers into a labour union or the act of joining one.

Workers unionise to bargain collectively for better wages, conditions, or protections: Staff at the warehouse are unionising.

Management may resist unionising efforts.

The spelling with -s- is standard in British English; American English uses -z-.
