ungrounded
Lacking solid basis
Ungrounded describes something lacking a solid foundation or basis.
An ungrounded fear has no evidence to support it; an ungrounded theory isn't anchored in fact.
In electrical contexts, ungrounded means not connected to an electrical ground—a safety hazard: The outlet was ungrounded.
A person who seems ungrounded lacks stability or connection to reality.
