understander
Person who gets it
An understander is someone who understands—a person who grasps or comprehends something.
The word is rare and slightly awkward, usually appearing when a writer needs to name the role of comprehending: A good teacher is first an understander of students.
More often, English speakers reach for other constructions: "someone who understands" or simply "listener."
