undercrank
Shoot fewer frames
Undercrank is a filmmaking technique where the camera records at fewer frames per second than the playback rate, making the action appear sped up when projected at normal speed.
Silent films were often undercranked to create frantic comedy.
The term comes from the hand-cranked cameras of early cinema.
The opposite is overcrank, which produces slow motion.
