truck driving songs
Diesel-fueled country ballads
Truck driving songs are a country music subgenre celebrating long-haul trucking culture—the open road, loneliness, truck stops, and the trucker's independent lifestyle.
The genre peaked in the 1960s and 70s with songs like "Six Days on the Road" and "Convoy." The term sometimes extends loosely to any driving music with a steady rhythm suited to highway miles.
