weighted keys
Realistic keyboard feel
Weighted keys are piano-style keys on an electronic keyboard or digital piano that resist being pressed, simulating the mechanical action of an acoustic piano's hammers.
The weight helps pianists develop proper finger technique and control dynamics: I bought a keyboard with weighted keys so practicing at home would feel more like the real thing.
Keyboards without this feature have light, springy keys that respond uniformly regardless of touch.
