toroid
Rotated circle's solid
A toroid is a doughnut-shaped surface or solid—a ring formed by rotating a circle around an axis that doesn't intersect it.
The shape appears in mathematics, physics, and engineering: toroidal transformers wrap wire around a ring-shaped core, and fusion reactors often use toroidal chambers to contain plasma.
The magnetic field forms a toroid around the wire.
