throw rope
Tossed safety line
A throw rope is a length of rope, often brightly colored and stored in a bag, designed to be thrown to someone in water during a rescue.
The bag serves as a weight for accurate throwing and allows the rope to deploy smoothly: Every kayaker should carry a throw rope.
