testability

How checkable something

Testability is how readily something can be tested.

In science, a hypothesis has testability if it can be confirmed or refuted through observation or experiment—claims that can't be tested fall outside scientific inquiry.

In software engineering, testability describes how easily code can be verified: We refactored the module to improve its testability.

Good design increases testability; tangled dependencies reduce it.
