test alert
Practice emergency notification
Test alert is a notification sent to verify that an alert system is functioning properly.
Emergency broadcasts, phone notifications, and alarms all require periodic testing: This is a test alert—no action is required.
The phrase often precedes drills for weather emergencies, security systems, or mass communication networks.
