tequila slammer
Fizzy agave shot
A tequila slammer is a cocktail ritual: tequila and a carbonated mixer (typically lemon-lime soda or ginger ale) are combined in a sturdy glass, covered with the palm, slammed against the bar to create fizz, then downed in one gulp while effervescing.
The drink and the drinking method share the name: We did tequila slammers until closing time.
