tent footprint
Floor protection tarp
A tent footprint is a groundsheet cut to match a tent's floor dimensions, placed underneath to protect against moisture, abrasion, and punctures.
Most are sold separately as accessories for specific tent models.
I always pack the footprint when camping on rocky ground.
Also called a ground cloth or groundsheet, though those terms can refer to any protective tarp.
