taping knife
Joint compound tool
A taping knife is a flat-bladed tool used in drywall work to apply and smooth joint compound over seams and screw holes.
The blade is wider and more flexible than a putty knife, typically ranging from four to twelve inches.
Wider knives spread compound more smoothly; narrower ones work tight corners: I used a six-inch taping knife for the first coat.
