supercentenarians
Beyond-century birthday celebrants
Supercentenarians are people who have reached the age of 110 or older, placing them in an even rarer category than centenarians, who are merely 100 or older.
The term combines the Latin prefix super- (above, beyond) with centenarian.
Because so few humans reach this age, supercentenarians are subjects of intense study by researchers interested in longevity and aging.
The world's oldest supercentenarian lived to 122.
