sunwise

Left to right

Sunwise means in the direction of the sun's apparent movement across the sky—clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.

The word appears mainly in descriptions of Celtic rituals and folklore, where moving sunwise around a sacred site brought good fortune: They walked sunwise around the stone circle three times.

The opposite is widdershins.
