sunrise services

Sunrise services are religious ceremonies held outdoors at dawn, most commonly on Easter Sunday.

Christians gather in parks, cemeteries, or hilltops to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus, which according to the Gospels was discovered at early morning.

The timing connects worshippers to the biblical narrative while the rising sun symbolizes hope and new life: We've attended the sunrise service at the amphitheater every Easter for twenty years.
