sun-dried bricks

Clay blocks, air-cured

Sun-dried bricks are building blocks made from clay or mud mixed with straw or other binders, then shaped and left to dry in the sun rather than fired in a kiln.

Also called adobe, they have been used for millennia in arid climates: The ancient walls were built of sun-dried bricks.

They're durable in dry conditions but vulnerable to moisture.
