Attaining the peak
Summiting is reaching the peak of a mountain, especially as the culminating achievement of a climb: After six days of ascent, they finally succeeded in summiting Everest.
The term belongs to mountaineering culture, where the summit attempt is the defining moment of an expedition.
Also used figuratively for reaching any peak: summiting in her career.
