student-teacher
Classroom apprentice educator
A student-teacher is someone training to become a teacher, typically completing supervised classroom practice as part of their education degree.
The student-teacher observes, assists, and eventually leads classes under a mentor teacher's guidance: My student-teacher took over the class for six weeks.
The hyphenated form also describes the relationship between learners and instructors: student-teacher ratio, student-teacher conferences.
