street trading
Curbside goods selling
Street trading is buying and selling goods in public spaces—sidewalks, plazas, markets—rather than from permanent shops.
The term covers everything from licensed vendors at farmers' markets to unlicensed hawkers selling watches on street corners.
British English uses it more than American, which often prefers street vending: The council issued new street trading licenses.
