stonewash
Denim fading technique
Stonewash is a process for softening and fading denim by tumbling it with pumice stones or similar abrasives.
The treatment gives jeans a worn, broken-in look straight off the rack.
As an adjective, stonewashed describes fabric treated this way: stonewashed jeans, a stonewashed denim jacket.
Also spelled stone-wash or stone wash.
