stonewashed

Artificially aged denim

Stonewashed describes fabric, especially denim, that has been tumbled with pumice stones or similar abrasives during manufacturing to achieve a faded, softened, worn-in look: stonewashed jeans.

The process became popular in the 1980s and remains a standard treatment for casual clothing that's meant to look broken in from the start.
