sterilising
Making completely germ-free
Sterilising is the British spelling of sterilizing.
To sterilise is to make something free from bacteria or other living microorganisms: sterilising surgical instruments, sterilising baby bottles.
It also means to make a person or animal incapable of reproduction, whether through surgery or other means.
Figuratively, to sterilise something is to strip it of vitality or interest: The committee sterilised the report of anything controversial.
