state treasury
Government money vault
A state treasury is the government department or fund that manages a state's public money—collecting revenue, paying obligations, and overseeing financial assets.
The term applies both to the agency itself and to the pool of funds it administers: The governor raided the state treasury to fund emergency relief.
At the national level, the equivalent is typically just "the Treasury."
