stand fast
Refuse to yield
Stand fast means to hold your position firmly, refusing to move or yield.
The phrase comes from military commands but applies broadly to any situation requiring resolve: She stood fast against pressure to change her vote.
To stand fast is to remain steadfast when retreat or compromise would be easier.
