spiralized

Cut into spirals

Spiralized describes food, usually vegetables, that has been cut into long, thin, spiral-shaped strands resembling noodles.

A spiralizer—a kitchen tool with rotating blades—transforms zucchini, carrots, or sweet potatoes into curly ribbons: spiralized zucchini with marinara sauce.

The technique gained popularity with low-carb diets as a pasta substitute.
