speed readers
Rapid text consumers
Speed readers are people who practice techniques to read text much faster than average, often claiming to absorb thousands of words per minute.
The term can describe genuine practitioners of rapid reading methods or, more skeptically, those who skim rather than truly comprehend: Speed readers supposedly finish novels in an hour, but how much do they really retain?
