spark plug wire
Coil-to-cylinder conduit
A spark plug wire is the insulated cable that carries high-voltage electrical current from the ignition coil or distributor to the spark plug in an internal combustion engine.
These wires must withstand extreme heat and electrical stress; worn or damaged wires cause misfires, rough idling, and poor fuel economy.
Also called ignition wire or plug wire.
Modern vehicles increasingly use coil-on-plug systems that eliminate these wires entirely.
