Unobservant means failing to notice things—inattentive to details or surroundings.

An unobservant person might miss obvious clues, walk past a friend without seeing them, or remain oblivious to changes in their environment: How could you be so unobservant? The sign was right there.

The word can also describe someone who doesn't follow religious observances.
