solarise
Light-damage film intentionally
Solarise is the British spelling of solarize.
To solarise is to expose something to sunlight, especially in photography, where overexposure creates a reversal effect—dark areas become light and vice versa: The artist solarised the prints for a surreal effect.
The technique was popularized by Man Ray in the 1930s.
