solarized
Light-reversed film effect
Solarized describes something exposed to sunlight, especially in photography where overexposure creates a distinctive effect—reversing tones so that light areas appear dark and vice versa.
The technique produces dreamlike, surreal images: The solarized portrait had an otherworldly quality.
In other contexts, solarized may simply mean sun-damaged or affected by solar radiation.
