soft shadow
Diffused light's edge
A soft shadow has gradual, blurred edges rather than sharp boundaries, created when light comes from a diffuse source or wraps partially around an object.
In computer graphics and photography, soft shadows appear more natural and less harsh than hard shadows: The overcast sky cast soft shadows across the lawn.
Cinematographers often prefer soft shadows for flattering portrait lighting.
