soft pastel
Dusty art stick
Soft pastel is a drawing medium made of pure pigment bound with minimal gite, producing vibrant, velvety marks that blend easily with fingers or tools.
The sticks are chalky and fragile, distinguished from oil pastels and hard pastels by their powdery texture.
Soft pastels allow rich layering and subtle gradations: She worked in soft pastel to capture the hazy light.
The term also describes the resulting artwork.
