sober companion
Sobriety support person
A sober companion is a person hired to provide one-on-one support for someone recovering from addiction, often living with or accompanying the client through daily life.
Unlike sponsors in twelve-step programs, sober companions are paid professionals who help prevent relapse during vulnerable periods: The family hired a sober companion for his first month out of rehab.
